GCCUK to hold a non-denominational festival of prayers in London

The Walworth Methodist church in Camberwell London will be the venue for the first ever prayer festival organised by the Ghana Christian Council UK (GCCUK).

The service will take place at 6:30pm on Friday 27th November 2015 and will be moderated by the leaders of the council made up of senior ministers from different denominations of UK based Ghanaian led churches.

GCCUK is organising this event ahead of the Christmas and New Year festivities to pray for God’s protection for the United Kingdom and Ghana. In a statement Dr Shadrach Ofosuware, pastor in charge of Freedom Centre International and the chair of GCCUK, said the council has observed that each year during the festive season there are increased number of disasters, accidents and deaths. He said it is for this reason that the council has set this date aside to seek God’s guidance and protection for all, especially the citizens of UK and Ghana.

Dr Shadrach said it is the prayer of the council that all will go through this festive season safely to see 2016 where God has great prospects for the UK and Ghana. The GCCUK chair reminded all that whilst the church is praying, it is the responsibility of every citizen to be law abiding, avoiding drinking and driving or any acts that could endanger lives.

The festival of prayer is being held in collaboration with the Ghana Union and the Ghana High Commission UK. The service is open to all.

The Ghana Christian Council UK was launched in July 2012 in London to be the official chaplaincy for Ghanaians resident in UK. The council which is open to all Ghanaian Church Leaders in the UK and Ireland is endorsed by the Ghana High Commission and the Ghana Union and has a mandate to work to unite Ghanaians to serve God and country.

The body also serves and stand to represent the interest of all Ghanaian Christians, Organisations and Churches in the United Kingdom.
