Ghanaians in Chicago will remember Ghana's 48th Independence with a party!

......President to highlight unity and call to duty. Chicago, the great windy city of the Midwest will be buzzing and sizzling hot with Ghana's Independence anniversary celebrations on the 5th of March 2005.


If you have not yet planned your weekend retreat, we have already planned one for you at Darien, Illinois.To accommodate our brothers in Bolingbrook, the Ghana National Council of Metropolitan Chicago has planned a party to celebrate Ghana's 48th Independence midway between Bolingbrook and Chicago.


Sam-Q and Mellinium Soundz will entertain the crowd to their kind of DJ "musik"! On March 6th every year the Ghanaian community in the Chicago Metropolitan Area celebrates Ghana's Anniversary and the attainment of freedom from British Colonial rule on March 6, 1957 and to honor the Ghanaian citizens who made this happen.


On this day the Ghanaian Community in Chicago celebrates with a dinner and dance that brings together about 200 to 400 members of the community and from different parts of the state and the country. This year the Ambassador of Ghana to the United States has been invited, Dorothy Brown , the clerk of the circuit court will be in attendance, Charles "Chuck" Bowen, the Mayor of Chicago's special Assistant on African and Religious affairs will be there!

In a chat with Reuben Hadzide, president of the Ghana National Council, this morning, he affirmed rumors that his speech will center on unity and call to duty!


The event starts at 7 PM prompt at 8700 Carriage Green's.


Bring your family, your date and friends for a "good time"!You cannot miss out on this because Ghanaweb and Ghana National Council will be there to cover the occasion!
