Ghana’s High Commissioner to the UK and Ireland, Papa Owusu-Ankomah has reminded Ghanaians living in Wales about their important role in realizing a “Ghana Beyond Aid”.

“The time has come for you to emulate the sacrifices of your forebears in the fight for economic independence”- Papa admonished.

The High Commissioner who was addressing a durbar of Ghanaians in Cardiff, Wales in the United Kingdom charged the gathering, which included Ghanaian students studying in the city to return to Ghana and bring about the change they desire, stressing “…you have rubbed shoulders with the brightest and the best and this is the time to put your experiences and skills at the disposal of your country.”

He briefed the gathering about the work government is doing in digitizing the economy, revamping the Railway sector, as well as the strides being made in the Agriculture and Education sectors.

As part of the durbar, Ghanaians resident in Cardiff and other neighbouring cities are to enrol for their passports, saving them the time of travelling to London to have their biodata taken.
