Chairman of the Volta Regional Veterans Association of Ghana (VAG), Ex WO1 William Worgba, has appealed to government to help equip its regional office.

He said the office which served as a rallying point for members was not “vibrant” because it lacked basic equipment.

WO1 Worgba made the appeal when he spoke to the Ghana News Agency on the sidelines of this year’s 72nd Remembrance Day Celebration in Ho.

He said their numerous appeals over the years went unattended to, making the Association unattractive to members.

Other veterans also appealed for a community centre with well-equipped hospital for the members.

“It is quite disheartening to see some veterans wallowing in idleness and boredom after serving the nation diligently,” a Veteran stated.

Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa, Volta Regional Minister, laid the first wreath on behalf of the President and people of Ghana.

Lieutenant Colonel Bernand Baba Pantoah, Commanding Officer, 66 Artillery Regiment, also laid a wreath on behalf of the Volta Regional Security Services.

Captain George Nfojoh, rtd, laid on behalf of VAG and Togbe Gbogbolulu on behalf of the chiefs and people of the region.
