Ghana Premier League giants Asante Kotoko have penned a three-year deal with Charles Akunnor to become coach of the side, Happyghana.com can exclusively report.
The former AshantiGold trainer replaces coach Paa Kwesi Fabin who resigned after seven months in charge of the Porcupine Warriors.
Several coaches expressed interest in the job, but Happyghana.com can confirm that C.K Akunnor has been handed the role following a fruitful discussion with the club’s management on Friday.
The 44-year-old gaffer will be unveiled at the club’s secretariat in Kumasi on Monday.
Akunnor led AshantiGold to second place after the first round of the Zylofon Cash Premier but parted ways with the club following reports of a rift between him and the C.E.O of the club, Dr. Kwaku ‘Champion’ Frimpong.
