Gay Conference At Legon?

Homosexuals

Mon, 11 Sep 2006 Source: People & Places

Homosexuals have started congregating.

Places in and around the environs of the University of Ghana, Legon, have become hibernating points for the gay men before the forth-coming conference slated for first week in October.

Neighbourhoods such as Christian Village, Kissiehman, Abofu, Anumle, Oko, Pillar 2, Mempemehuasem and some hotels around West Legon have started spotting elderly white men who almost always have black men in tow.

Last Sunday especially saw a popular entertainment spot near the Ghana Airways Flats hosting a variety of men who did not care to hide their sexual inhibitions. They frolicked gaily to the astonishment of other straight patrons of the joint. Surprisingly, some of the locals who apparently have been in cohabitation with some of the white men were seen audaciously introducing some minors to some fairly elderly white men.

These young ones were handed very chilled bottles of Guinness Stout, which they sipped amidst hilarious conversation with the adults. When the P&P reporters questioned one patron of the nightclub in one of the suburbs, it came out that it was no news that white men come down every summer to be with their ‘wives’ and husbands’ and also to recruit new boys.

It came out also that most of the well-moneyed locals made their wealth by cohabiting with the white homosexuals.

According to one very influential local who spoke on the basis of anonymity, the white men frequent the Achimota Golf Club area and hit it off with some of the ball boys (caddies). These boys, according to our source, also introduce the white men to those local men who would want to be assisted by the expatriates. But one has to become gay before any help could be given by the white men.

At West Legon, not less than five mansions were pointed out to our reporters and which are allegedly owned by homosexuals. It also came out that since the edit by the Minister of Information and National Orientation over the intended 2006 Koforidua Gay Conference, some gays suggested a change of venue, Adabraka and Legon were selected as the most ideal places in the national capital for such an event. According to our influential source, Legon became the consensus venue as suburbs around the place could easily render hospitality services to the delegates without raising any suspicion.
