Hearts of Oak great, Bernard Don Bortey has blast Asante Kotoko fans for wrongfully tarnishing his image.
Fans of Asante Kotoko have consistently accused the 37-year old for accepting transfer money from the club but never played for the team.
Bortey, who was then the star of the domestic league in the mid-2000s came close to joining the Reds but the move collapsed at the eleventh hour.
There were reports the 'serial killer' as he was affectionately known had taken money from the Porcupine Warriors.
However, Bortey has denied search reports and wants fans of Kotoko to 'respect themselves' by stopping the false accusation.
"Asante Kotoko supporters should respect themselves and stop tarnishing my image, I never took their money. My uncle George Amoako should tell them," the ex-Ghana international told Sikka Sports.
Donn Bortey enjoyed success at Hearts of Oak, winning three Ghana Premier League titles and the 2004 CAF Confederations Cup when they defeated Asante Kotoko on penalties in the final.
