Ghana defender Jonathan Mensah has vowed to help Columbus Crew do better in the upcoming Major League Soccer season.
Mensah played a pivotal role in the club's run to the semifinals of the Eastern Conference last season.
And ahead of the start of the new season in March, the player who was named the Black and Golds defender of the year in 2018 says the goal is to improve the club's standing in 2019.
“My individual preparation was better last year,” he told Massive Report. “The experience of 2017 helped. I knew the league better and I could prepare accordingly. I brought everything I had and went to each practice trying to do my best.”
“As a team, we just want to take it from where we left off last year. We just want to keep moving forward and improving. I can improve every aspect of my game and that’s the goal. We want to achieve more.”
Mensah is in his third season at the club after joining from Russian side Anzhi Makachakala in 2017.
