Board Chairman of National Sports Authority (NSA) Hon. Kwadwo Baah-Agyemang has tipped Aduana Stars talisman, Yahaya Mohammed, to score regularly for the Black Stars after his impressive start to the season was rewarded with a call-up to the national squad.
The former OGC Nice player was named in CK Akonnor’s squad for this month’s 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying double-header against Sudan alongside Asante Kotoko centre-back Habib Mohammed, Ashantigold right-back Kwadwo Amoako and Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Richard Atta on Tuesday.
Yahaya, 32, has been having an outstanding season scoring ten goals after 12 matches played in the Ghana Premier League so far.
“Yahaya Mohammed is possible of scoring goals for the Black Stars. Coach CK Akonnor should give the local players the chance to play,” the member of parliament for Asante Akim North Constituency said in an interview with Kumasi-based Ashh FM.
