The family of murdered army Captain Maxwell A. Mahama has organised a one-week observation of the passing of their son.
The programme was held in Accra on Monday, June 5 with former President John Dramani Mahama in attendance.
It was a day of sorrow for the mother of the deceased who returned from US recently after the death of her son. She wept uncontrollably as former Chief of Defence Staff Air Marshal Michael Samson-Oje consoled her.
Captain Mahama was lynched by irate youth of Denkyira Obuasi in the Central Region on Monday May 29 on suspicion that he was an armed robber, after a group of people he asked for directions from spotted a gun on him.
42 suspects are being held in police custody in relation to the case as investigations continue.
Meanwhile, the family has announced that he will be buried on Friday, June 9.
