Captain Mahama was lynched by indigenes of Denkyira-Obuasi where he was mistaken for an armed robber. His death left Ghana in a state of shock as Ghanaians could not fathom why a human being will be subjected to such inhumane treatment.
Major Mahama was in Denkyira-Obuasi to fight the galamsey menace that has rendered water bodies unwholesome where he met his untimely death.
He will be buried on Friday in Accra after which there will be a family meeting and thanksgiving service on Saturday and Sunday respectively before the funeral will be transferred to Bole and Tumu.
