Real Valladolid sports director Miguel Ángel Gómez fears the transfer rumors surrounding Mohammed Salisu could distract the promising defender.
The 21-year-old center-back has been linked with a host of stellar European clubs.
English giants Manchester United are reported to have shown huge interest and ready to trigger his €12 million release clause.
''The less talk about Salisu, better for him. It is a mistake we [Real Valladolid] learned about last year with Fernando Calero,'' Gómez said.
''The club has no record of Valencia's interest [in Salisu]. These things deceive him. Salisu is a young boy like Fernando was. You have to let the boy concentrate on his things.
''My feeling is that Salisu will continue here, there is no fear. He will be here until the end of the season."
