President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has claimed his government is committed to reviving colts football in the country.
During his 2018 State of the Nation address, the first gentleman of the land revealed that, his government is making serious efforts to resuscitate colts football in the country as he believes the demise of juvenile football has robbed the country of exceptional talents in recent times.
“In partnership with the Inner City and Zongo Development Ministry and the Ghana Football Association, we are constructing a number of football pitches in the Zongos and across the rest of the country, to aid in the revival of colts football,” says the President.
Akufo-Addo believes this step will aide in the revivals of failing colts football which has been responsible for the production of some of Ghana’s finest football talents like Abedi Ayew Pele, Tony Yeboah, Stephen Appiah and Asamoah Gyan just to name a few.
He said Ghana needs to harness its footballing talents at a young age if the country is to continue its tradition as being one of the continent’s greatest footballing nations.
