Asamoah Gyan converted a penalty as Al Ahli beat Al Dahfra 2-0 on the road in the Arabian Gulf League on Wednesday.
The Ghana captain has regained full fitness and was named in the starting line-up for Ahli who are six points behind leaders Al Jazira.
They were awarded a penalty, which Gyan elected himself to play, and scored just before half-time.
Senegalese Makhete Diop doubled the visitors’ lead in the 63rd minute.
Gyan was replaced by Saeed Jassim Saleh after 87 minutes.
