Communications Minister, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful has advised the youth to stop looking only for 'white collar jobs' as they have the ability to become bosses.
She said it is the focus of the Akufo-Addo led administration to find jobs for the youth using the skills available to them.
Speaking at the launch of a twelve-week online digital, marketing and entrepreneurship training programme in Accra, Mrs. Owusu Ekuful explained that the programme is a Public Private Partnership and all the graduates will be employed after the training had ended.
“This programme the online digital, marketing and entrepreneurship training programme is a classic example of Public Private Partnership because Ecobank is helping finance this initiative and has promised to employ all the graduates from this programme” she said.
She further advised those who have taken advantage of the initiative to use the internet in a way that will be profitable to them.
“For all the young people who have signed on to this programme, you are determined to acquire skills to enable you to become high net-worth individuals, move yourself from unemployment and poverty into whole new world of exciting opportunities.
The online digital, marketing and entrepreneurship training programme is to engage a critical mass of young people who will be equipped with the requisite technology-driven entrepreneurial skills to use the internet, especially social media to market their products and services as well as start virtual offices in a bid to reduce unemployment in Ghana.
The twelve weeks training programme is targeted at persons between the ages of 15 to 35 with a minimum knowledge in Information and Communication Technology across all ten Regions of Ghana.
