Chairman of the Premier League Board, Mr. Ashford Tetteh Oku, has expressed his disappointment over their inability to acquire a headline sponsor for the Ghana Premier League in the past few seasons.
The Ghana Premier League is expected to kick start over the weekend without a headline sponsor which marks the third successive time of failing to secure sponsorship for Ghana’s elite football league.
In an interview with Sportsnetghana.com at the launch of the 2017/18 GPL season, the PLB boss emphasized how the lack of sponsorship has adversely affected their dealings but remains of hopeful of acquiring a sponsor very soon.
“I have been particularly worried for all this years thus running a league without a headline sponsor but the GFA are taking steps to get a headline sponsor very soon.
“It has not been easy because if it were that easy we could have gotten one by now, so lets keep our options open and I belive when there is one, the GFA will announce,” Mr. Tetteh Oku said in an interview.
