Barely a week after launching Delhi Public School International (DPSI) Care Foundation, the Tema-based school, has made a cash donation of GH¢ 8,000 to the First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo’s foundation.

The amount presented to the First Lady in her office is aimed at supporting the charity works of the Rebecca Foundation which has been instrumental in improving the health of young babies and their mothers nationwide.

A class 10 pupil from the commerce department of DPSI, Maura Vidoni, presented the cash to the First Lady on behalf of DPSI Care Foundation, hoping it will go a long way to make positive impacts on the lives of maternal mothers and young babies.

On her part, Mrs Akufo-Addo thanked the DPSI Care Foundation for the kind gesture.

According to the First Lady, the donation showed that the Foundation and indeed the school was thinking about the people of Ghana, especially, maternal mothers.

She seized the opportunity to encourage students of the wholly Indian owned school to study hard to become successful career personalities.

She expressed the belief that if they took their academic activities seriously, they stood the chance of becoming great men and women such as presidents, first ladies, in the future.

In attendance at the brief ceremony were faculty members of the Tema-based DPSI School, including Tanya Thakwani, wife of Mukesh Thakwani, Director of DPSI Ghana.
