Government has on Thursday, April, 11,2019 presented to parliament a legislative Instrument meant to deal with the menace of political party vigilantism in the country.
The Attorney General and Minister of Justice laid the Vigilantism and Related Offences bill before parliament on behalf of government.
This is in line with the declaration by President Akufo-Addo to end Political Party vigilantism during the State of the Nation Address.
The bill laid under a Certificate of Urgency, has been referred to the Constitutional, Legal, and Parliamentary Affairs Committee of parliament to determine the propriety of the piece of legislation being laid under certificate of urgency.
Meanwhile, Minority Leader is of the view that the bill is too important to be rushed under a certificate of urgency.
