Black Stars midfielder Afriyie Acquah has appealed to Ghanaians to give the team another two years to annex the Africa Cup of Nations trophy.
Ghana has not won the continental silverware in 37 years and a bid to break the jinx hit another snag as the team exited the 2019 AFCON in the Round of 16.
“We did our best and wanted to win the Cup but we all know in football you either win, lose or draw,” Acquah told Zylofon TV.
“We did our best but we were unfortunate so we will just give thanks to God.
“It’s not too late; we are young, so Ghanaians should give us another two years to win the tournament,” the Empoli player stated.
Ghana will be hoping to make amends at the next championship in Cameroon in 2021.
