Ghana Premier League giants Asante Kotoko SC have completed the signing of ex-Ashanti Gold SC defender Samed Ibrahim in the transfer window, Footballghana.com can report.
Ibrahim joined the Porcupine Warriors after agreeing personal terms and passing his mandatory medicals on Wednesday as they beef up their squad for their CAF Champions League campaign.
The 27-year-old parted ways with Ashanti Gold SC after refusing to extend his contract which led to his switch from the regional rivals.
He played for New Edubiase United before joining the Miners in the 2016/2017 season.
Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko have advanced to the final qualifying round of the 2019/20 CAF Champions League after knocking out Nigerian side Kano Pillars 4-3 on aggregate.
The Reds will face Tunisian giants Etoile du Sahel next month.
The first leg will be played at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on the weekend of 13–15 September and the return leg in Sousse a fortnight later.
The last time Kotoko reached the Group stage of the CAF Champions League was in 2006.
