Executive Chairman of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Dr Kwame Kyei has swiftly denied reports that he bailed some Ghanaian journalist in Ivory Coast.
Asante Kotoko last Sunday played against San Pedro of Abidjan in the CAF Confederations Cup and suffered a 2-0 defeat despite winning the first leg by 1-0 at home.
After the game, reports went rife in the media that some Ghanaian journalist were arrested for smoking marijuana by police in Ivory Coast only for the Executive Chairman to bail them from the hands of the police.
But speaking on Light FM on the report, Dr Kwame Kyei strongly denied the story insisting nothing of sort happened.
“It’s never true any journalist was caught in Abidjan smoking wee where I went to bail him out of jail.
“These are false allegations and there is no truth in it,” he stressed.
Dr Kwame Kyei also called on the fans of the club to exercise patience insisting very soon things will be alright for the club.
