The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has in a statement said the power outage that has hit some parts of the country is due to some challenges beyond its control.
Some persons have experienced darkness for hours and have since taken to various social media platforms to register their displeasure over the situation while others make mockery of the power distribution service.
But a statement issued by ECG, Tuesday, said, "the outage is due to a technical challenge upstream."
"Customers should please note that the situation is beyond ECG's control."
While rendering an apology for the inconvenience it has caused, the company assured customers that "immediately the challenge is resolved, power supply will be restored to all affected areas."
