Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey says Atletico Madrid must improve as a team after their disappointing defeat to Eibar in La Liga on Saturday.
The Rojiblancos' poor campaign continued as they suffered their third defeat of the season in the Spanish top flight to the strugglers.
Despite enjoying the better of possession, the capital based club failed to make it count after Esteban Burgos and Edu Espisito scored to secure all three points for Eibar.
"We’ve got to keep working hard and improving as a team. The team has been competing well and we tried everything we could tonight,” said the Ghana international after the game.
Atletico Madrid lie third on the table and are eight point behind joint leaders Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Manager Diego Simeone adds their opponents on Saturday have always given them a tough game.
“Ipurua has always been tough, even when we won here the games were tight. In the second half we played well. We played in the opposition’s half and chances to score, but were unable to convert,” said Simeone.
