One of these three schools – Asamankese SHS, Oyoko Methodist SHS and Nkwatia SHS will on February 16, 2020 walk home as proud winners of the 2nd edition of the Nana Sir Ofori-Atta I National Energy Quiz.

This follows their respective surprise victories over much fancied opponents in the semifinals of the competition held on Thursday, 30th January, 2020.

Asamankese SHS against all odds put up a mastered performance to put Yikrosec to a reality check, eliminating the boys from Somanya with 36 points, twice the score of their opponents who polled 18 points.

A similar fate was told in the second contest of the day when Anum Presby SHS who were the more fancied side in their mouth-watering contest against hosts, Oyoko Methodist SHS. Backed by their vociferous mates, Omess sold a heartwarming performance to thrash Anum Presby by a whopping 55 points to send Anum who managed some 27 points, packing.

Perhaps the biggest disappointment of the competition was witnessed in the elimination of semi-final and competition favourites, St. Peters SHS by city rivals and less fancied Nkwatia SHS.

St. Peters who had imposed the fear of the Lord in other opponents in the run up to the semi-finals with some impressive scores received the shock of their lives as Nkwatia SHS recorded an astounding 54 points to post an emphatic victory over the Persco boys who finished with 32 points.

With these victories, the die is cast for a promising grande final to determine the winner of the awesome Nana Sir Ofori-Atta I National Energy Quiz.

The three winners of the three semi-final contests, thus Asamankese SHS, Oyoko Methodist SHS and Nkwatia SHS will decide who among them will own the bragging rights in the finals to determine the winners of the 2019/2020 edition of the competition.
