The Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH) has restrained the frequency of relatives’ visit to patients in the hospital.

In a press statement signed by the Head of Public Relations of the hospital, Mustapha Salifu on 13th March 2020, the hospital has limited the number of relatives visiting patients in the various wards to only two.

This directive is to reduce the chances of patients getting infected by the virus from outsiders, as they are already vulnerable and can be infected easily.

“As part of the measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19, the authorities of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital wish to announce that it has limited visits to patients on admission to only two relatives,” parts of the statement read.

The directive comes after two persons who arrived in the country from Norway and Turkey about a week ago, were reported to have tested positive to the pandemic Thursday March 12, 2020.

The authorities of the Korle Bu Teaching hospital advised patients and their relatives to support the directive to ensure the general safety of all persons within the hospital.
