The Samira Empowerment and Humanitarian Projects (SEHP), founded by the Second Lady, Hajia Samira Bawumia has donated items worth over thousands of cedis to the Pantang and the Accra Psychiatric hospitals to augment the fight against the Coronavirus.
The items included hand sanitizers, nose masks, liquid soaps, tissues, wastebaskets, veronica buckets and bows, rice, oil, gari and among others.
According to the second lady, the donation to the mental health hospitals is to draw the attention of others especially donors to support the hospital.
“Mental health is something I want to lend my voice on because a lot of people haven’t averted their minds on but it is critical and mental health has been stigmatized but it could be anybody at any time,” she said.
On his part, the Chief Executive Officer of the Mental Health Authority, Dr. Akwasi Osei who received the items expressed appreciation to the second lady.
