In May 2017, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia reassured Ghanaians that the Akufo-Addo government’s promise of building factories in all the 216 districts and dams in some specific parts of the country was a ‘sacred' promise between his government and the people of Ghana.
While speaking on the first day of a two-day National Policy Summit at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) the vice president is quoted to have said, “We consider our promises a sacred contract between us and the people of Ghana.”
He added that; “You entrusted us with your future by voting us into power. And Nana Akufo-Addo can assure you that he would work with the team we have with all the skills we can assemble to make this Ghanaian dream a reality.”
