Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo -Addo, has responded to critics who have suggested that the now popular fruit juice, Kalypo, is not good for adults due its high sugar content.
Following the Kalypo craze, which was triggered by an image of Nana Addo sipping the product , some political opponents including the Chief of Staff , Julius Debrah, have insinuated that the drink could create heath problems for people who consume it.
However, speaking to thousands of party supporters at Kwadaso as part of his Ashanti Regional tour Thursday, Nana Addo chided the chief of staff , saying his unwarranted attack on the product amounts to an assault on local manufacturing.
“I have heard that one of the President’s appointees (Chief of Staff) is saying people shouldn’t drink Kalypo due to its health implications . Why did they build the Komenda Sugar in the first place?” he asked.
