Tatale(NR), Nov. 14, GNA - Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom, Presidential Candidate of Convention People's Party (CPP) has said the Party would not support either National Democratic Congress (NDC) or New Patriotic Party (NPP) as being alleged.
He said CPP was a strong and independent Party that was running its campaign and contesting vigorously to win Election 2008 on equal footing with all the other political parties.
Dr Nduom was addressing separate rallies at Tatale and Zabzugu in Zabzugu/Tatale District and Mion in Yendi Municipality during which he introduced their Parliamentary Candidates to the electorate. Mr Iddrisu Adam Yakubu, a-60-year-old retired teacher is contesting the Mion seat, Mr Adam Azima a-42-year-old teacher for Zabzugu/Tatale seat and Mr Penaja Bismarck Nyakal for the Saboba seat.
Dr Nduom pointed out that those peddling the rumour that CPP was working for either NDC or NPP were afraid of the growing strength of the Party and the in-roads it was making on the political terrain. He deplored the poor road network and health facilities in the areas he visited and promised that a CPP Government would improve upon them.
Dr Nduom said both NDC and NPP had "done their best when they were in power but their best was not enough" therefore, there was the need for a change.
He said CPP was the best alternative for that change and promised that a CPP Government would re-activate all abounded projects of Nkrumah regime and establish more factories to create employment for the people and put money in their pockets.
Dr Nduom said the CPP was elected, Tatale District would be carved out of the existing Zabzugu/Tatale District to accelerate the socio-economic development of the area.
He said a CPP Government would ensure that Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives and assembly members were elected to make them accountable to the people instead of the Central Government. Dr Nduom promised to make education from the kindergarten to Senior High School (SHS) level free.
