The Manhyia South organizer for the ruling NPP, Alhaji Abuba, has disclosed that the party is ever ready to avail its flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, for any invitation if only it can get the party even one vote.

According to him, the party, which is not known for the discrimination of individuals, is ever ready to welcome every invitation that is extended to them.

In a viral video, the controversial politician was responding to some critics for always attacking Dr. Bawumia for exhibiting anti-Muslim behaviour vis-à-vis his visit to a shrine and other churches.

He particularly mentioned some Muslim chiefs and clerics as being hypocrites who only wear opposition party colours in disguise and use their positions as cover-ups.

According to him, it was high time people desisted from doing hatred politics in disguise, urging them to tackle the numerous challenges in our communities instead of unnecessary political bias.

"There are so many challenges in our communities. I wonder why the Sheikh fails to advocate for those particular issues to be resolved, instead, would opt to tackle Bawumia's campaign. What we know is that, even if Satan himself establishes an association and invites us to their meeting, we'll massively honor it provided it can gain us some votes. If that particular Satan association has numbers that can benefit us, even if it is one, we'll go because we know the value of one vote. Why does the constitution say plus one vote? Who knows, Satan could be that particular plus one for our victory.

"Those attacking Bawumia for going to the shrine, going to churches, he has been ordered to do this and that, they have no case. The religion is not yours, stop the hypocrisy. We are all Muslims, and everything has its time. During political times, we are for all and without discrimination. When it is time for worship, we go to the mosque and worship as Muslims. Those who have their different beliefs are left to their faiths, let's stop inciting people against Dr. Bawumia unnecessarily," he said.

He warned people inciting Muslims, Christians, and other tribes against Dr. Bawumia with an evil agenda to desist from those acts, adding that it is the duty of the party to garner votes for victory without discrimination.

Alhaji Abuba further descended heavily on some Muslim groups for attacking Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh in a recent press conference. He said the press conference, which sought to demand an apology and retraction from NAPO over an alleged CSE, LGBTQ comment on the past NDC government, was a needless press conference that only sought to create confusion.

His comment comes in response to a recent press conference held by a pro-Muslim group demanding Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh retract and apologize to Muslim clerics.

Describing the press conference as baseless and an orchestration that only sought to tarnish the NPP stalwart's reputation, he said it was high time some people got enough education in our political spaces.

Background:
It could be recalled that a pro-Muslim group, Association of Liberal Muslims Ghana, asked the running mate of the New Patriotic Party, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, popularly known as Napo, to provide evidence for a recent statement he made against some Muslim clerics in connection with the Comprehensive Sexuality Education and LGBTQ.

In a press statement, which was in the Hausa language, read by Alhaji Ahmed Ibrahim, Ashanti Regional Chief of Wangara and an executive member of the group, said NAPO's allegation that some Islamic clerics were contracted by the former minister of education, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, to influence teachers in the teaching of the CSE and the LGBTQ+ in schools is a dent on the image of the respected clerics and Islam in general.

Describing his comment, which he made during a rally at Bantama, as blasphemy, the group demanded that the running mate should immediately mention the names of those imams who were contracted to promote such 'disgusting' CSE and LGBTQ+, which is an affront to their religion.

They therefore gave him a 3-day ultimatum to retract and apologize to the Islamic clerics if he has no evidence to prove his allegation.

But reacting to the press conference in the video, Alhaji Abuba said these groups of persons who only wear other party colours in disguise wanted to create tensions and hatred for the NPP running mate in the eyes of many who beautifully fall for the NPP's excellent policies. But, he said, their plans would never work.

"If you are wearing party T-shirts, let people know and stop pretending. Why were they even trying to drag Dr. Bawumia into this issue if indeed they were real and had a genuine message?" he quizzed.
