Sebastian Deh, the Member of Parliament-elect for the Kpando Constituency, has appealed for spiritual and prayer support for him and other elected leaders to effectively steer the affairs of the country.

He emphasised the importance of divine guidance and strength, particularly in navigating the current challenges facing the nation and fulfilling the promises made to constituents during the campaign period.

Mr. Deh, therefore, called on the public, including churches and religious and faith-based organisations, to support the governance process with prayers.

“Keep praying for us because we need it as we move forward.

“The promises we made during the election and the immense challenges ahead require strength and clarity to deliver on our commitments. Ghana is in a challenging phase, and we need to restore its rightful place among nations globally,” he said.

Speaking during the 2024 Ho Catholic Diocese Grotto Celebration held at Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto, Kpando Agbenorxoe, on Sunday, Mr. Deh urged the congregation to remain steadfast in their prayers for the nation and its leaders.

The event was a platform for him to express gratitude to God for a peaceful election and his victory.

Deh highlighted the peaceful and violence-free elections as a testament to God’s blessings, encouraging Ghanaians not to take it for granted.

“The message today reminded us of God’s hand in granting us peaceful elections. Particularly in Kpando, there wasn’t a single incident of violence or misconduct. We must be grateful to God for this and continue to seek His guidance as we lead,” he added.

Deh assured the congregation that he remained committed to addressing the needs of his constituents, working diligently to bring progress and development to Kpando.

Madam Jocelyn Tetteh, the Member of Parliament for North Dayi and MP-Elect for the same constituency, also reaffirmed her dedication to delivering on her campaign promises.

She emphasised the need to prioritise the Volta Region in national development efforts, ensuring that the region receives its fair share of resources and opportunities.

The thanksgiving celebration was attended by several prominent National Democratic Congress (NDC) leaders, including Edem Kofi Kpotosu, the Member of Parliament (MP) elect for Ho Central; Worlanyo Tsekpo, the MP-Elect for Hohoe; and Madam Jocelyn Tetteh of North Dayi.

The presence of these leaders demonstrated the party’s solidarity and shared vision for the region.

Deh reiterated the importance of maintaining the unity and peace that characterised the elections.

He acknowledged the efforts of the Electoral Commission and security personnel in ensuring a smooth electoral process in Kpando and across the country.

“The peaceful elections we experienced are not just a coincidence but the work of God. It is a foundation upon which we can build a better Ghana. Let us continue to work together in unity and prayer as we strive to improve the lives of our people,” he said.

The event, marked by prayers, hymns, and thanksgiving, served as a reminder of the role of faith and collective effort in shaping the country’s future.

As Deh and his colleagues prepare to assume office, they have pledged to remain focused on their responsibilities, driven by the trust reposed in them by their constituents
