The Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Richard Ahiagbah, has criticised the National Democratic Congress (NDC) over its proposed 24-hour economy policy, citing the infamous “Dumsor” crisis under the NDC as a testament to their inability to deliver.

Speaking to the media, Ahiagbah lauded Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the best candidate to lead Ghana, emphasising his vision for leveraging technology to empower the youth and make them globally competitive.

“Dr. Bawumia’s economic plan focuses on equipping the Ghanaian youth with skills in Information Technology to thrive in an increasingly digital and Artificial Intelligence-driven world,” he noted.

Ahiagbah argued that the NDC lacks the expertise to harness such advancements and criticised their ability to manage the country’s development.

“The NDC is currently making statements designed to tickle your fantasies—not positively, but to anger and incite you against a government that is doing its best,” he stated.

He dismissed the NDC’s 24-hour economy policy as unrealistic and misleading. “Those who couldn’t keep the lights on for 12 hours now claim they can sustain a 24-hour economy.

“It’s a great deception with consequences that will be devastating and generational,” Mr. Ahiagbah said, referencing the prolonged power outages during the NDC’s tenure.

Concluding his remarks, he urged Ghanaians to carefully evaluate the options before them and avoid the “mistake” of voting the NDC back into power, emphasising the importance of continuity and technological advancement under the leadership of Dr. Bawumia.
