A disqualified independent presidential candidate, Janet Nabla, has spoken out for the first time about her disqualification from the general elections by the Electoral Commission.

In an interview with Joy News on Thursday, November 21, 2024, Nabla expressed disappointment over her situation, emphasising how her policies would have brought about positive change in the lives of Ghanaians.

She stated that she had proposed incorporating chiefs into politics to play a key role, but due to her disqualification, the two major political parties, the National Democratic Congress and the New Patriotic Party, are now leveraging her campaign policies to their benefit.

“I have been sad from being disqualified from contesting in this year’s election. If you look at the policies I brought including price control mechanisms, shelters for the elderly, using commercial banks to give low interest rate loans to women who are into small-scale trading, and giving allowances to struggling single women.

“I brought all these up because I am a woman and they are the majority of the things I faced so I decided to bring them into politics but I wasn’t chosen. The two biggest political parties are now using my policies of inculcating chiefs into politics and that’s okay with me,” she said.

Janet Nabla urged Ghanaians to pray earnestly for God's guidance in selecting the right leader who will be capable of implementing effective policies to advance the country.

She expressed her support for the CPP presidential candidate, believing that she has the strong policies needed to advance the country.

“Ghanaians have to pray for God to give us direction on where to go. I have looked at the policies which are great but are not implemented once they are elected into power. I support the woman among them, Nana Frimpomaa. She has great policies that build the country and Ghanaians to rally behind her to be able to win and send us to the next level,” she added.
