The National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS), has congratulated Martin Alamisi Burnes Kaiser Amidu on his appointment as the first ever Special Independent Prosecutor of the Republic.
NUGS in a statement signed by its executives commended the efforts of the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for rising above partisanship and recognising a highly taunted principled and prominent legal personality to that high office.
‘Mr. Amidu has proven to be a vociferous anti-corruption crusader over the past years whose quest of fairness, truth and justice has won him national admiration and accolade “The Citizen Vigilante,’ the statement read.
‘It is our fervent hope that the Attorney General’s and President’s Nominee will be approved in time when Parliament reconvenes on 23rd January, 2018 to enable him discharge his duties dispassionately in service to God and Country, Ghana.
It continued ”‘We call on all and sundry to offer Mr Amidu the necessary solidarity in our quest to salvage our beloved dear nation Ghana from corruption and corrupt practices”.
