A total of 426 candidates from Kaleo Secondary Technical School are writing the on-going West African Secondary School Certificate Examination in Kaleo of the Nadowli Kaleo District.
The candidates are made up of 252 boys and 174 girls from all the programmes run in the school, namely: Agriculture, Home Science and Technical studies.
The Head Mistress of Kaleo Secondary Technical, Patricia Gyereh Dianu, made this known when Katherine T. Lankono, the District Chief Executive for the Nadolwi-Kaleo visited the examination Centre in the district on Wednesday.
The examination, according to supervisors started on time and said they were 2 absenteeism of which they were all boys, according to them, they are yet to know why the students could not come to write the exams in the Centre.
The DCE told the candidates to avoid cheating at the examination and do independent work in order to become responsible adults and Presidents, and occupy key positions in future.
She said the government of Ghana under the leadership of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is committed to providing quality and affordable education to all Ghanaians and it is base on this that the government has introduced the Free Senior High Policy.
Madam Katherine cautioned the candidates against all forms of exams malpractices saying it was a serious offence.
The papers started on 3rd April, 2017 in all examination centres in the country is expected to end on 24th May, 2017.
