An aspiring constituency treasurer for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Kojo Atingha has taken President Nana Akufo-Addo over what he described as the family and friends style of governance under his watch.
The aspirant who described himself as a financier of the party said he feels worried that the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), attacked former President Mahama over perceived nepotism but has appointed his relatives to work for him. In his view, the claims by Nana Addo to protect the public purse are false because the ‘obolo size’ government is milking our scarce resources.
He made reference to the presidential staffers list and wondered how a president can protect the purse with that number. He said, president Nana Addo and his 998 staffers are just a duplication of positions and want to siphon the public purse.
Mr Atinga further lamented that, ''Nana Addo’s family members were the major financiers when he was vying for the presidential seat and so as part of paying them back for their support, he has appointed them to head a number of positions so they can recoup their loses. money .
