Ho, Dec. 28, GNA - Mr Prince Ahiadzro, Volta Regional Chairman of Convention Peoples Party (CPP), on Wednesday observed that the decision of Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom, 2008 Flagbearer of the party to quit could dismember the CPP.

“He is a big wig in the party and must not be allowed to go,” he told the Ghana News Agency in an interview soon after Dr Nduom’s decision was announced.

Mr Ahiadzro therefore urged the leadership of the party to arrange to meet

with Dr Nduom to thrash out whatever problems that necessitated his move.

“There is no smoke without fire, Mr Ahiadzro said.

He said Dr Nduom definitely has some misgivings about the party’s affairs that could be talked over.

Mr Ahiadzro said the CPP needs every member now than before and even more to join its ranks for which reason the party should do “everything to make Dr Nduom change his mind”.

Mr Vincent Norgbedzi, Regional Organiser of the party described Dr Nduom’s decision to quit the CPP as “unfortunate” but expressed optimism that the 2008 Presidential candidate would return to its fold in the future.

“The CPP remains the third political force in Ghana. We will rebuild it to attract others including Dr Nduom back,” he said.

“There are differences in every party and the best is for us all to stay, resolve and rebuild the party. (Dr Nduom’s) departure will affect our numbers but the CPP cannot collapse,” he said.
