A minister of state at the presidency and Member of Parliament for the Kpone

Katamanso constituency, Nii Laryea Afortey Agbo, says, he is confident Ghanaians

will retain President Mills and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in power

come 2012 elections.

‘’As an M.P and Minister of State I can tell you boldly that my heart is at rest

because of some of the things I am seeing going on in the country in terms of

development’’ Hon. Afortey Agbo said.

Addressing staff and students of the Dzorwulu special school in Accra, when he

represented former President Rawlings to donate food items and some assorted

drinks to the school as part of the 29th anniversary celebrations of the 31st

December revolution, The M.P for Kpone Akatamanso assured Ghanaians that with

support from the party leadership and former President Rawlings ‘’they will put

the country in a level that by 2012 we will not struggle to maintain the NDC to

power’’ Afortey Agbo said.

He said, his presence at the school was to represent both the current President

and former President Rawlings to signify to Ghanaians that the NDC is united and

a family that does things together.

‘’We always work and operate in the name of the two strong leaders thus nobody

should do a mistake’’ Hon. Afortey Agbo said.

He indicated that the ideals and believes of Junth 4th 1979 and the 31st

December 1981 revolutions was alive.

‘’We hold on to it, we abide by it and do things within the beliefs and ideals

of the revolutions’’ Afortey stated.

He explained that it was only the ideals that can hold the NDC in check, so that

we don’t go way ward or do things according to individual interest.

According to him, government and the NDC will not neglect Ghanaians and will not

use the trust reposed on them by Ghanaians by voting the NDC in power to enrich

themselves at their expense.

He concurred with his President on the declaration of 2011 as action year,

adding that things will be different this year.

Minister of state at the Presidency Nii Laryea Afortey Agbo said he felt so

ashamed to see incumbent governments in Africa struggling to subvert the will of

the people after elections by way of imposing themselves on the people.

’’This is what the NDC does not believe in thus the NDC will not take the

electorates for granted but will work assiduously to achieve the better Ghana

they promised Ghanaians’’. He added that hard work is what will ensure President

Mills second term in office, through the ballot box and not any other means.

Afortey Agbo said.
