The Chief of the Abofour Zongo Community in the Offinso North Constituency has observed that Muslims and people of northern extraction will cast their votes for the ruling New Patriotic Party because of the Free SHS program and other social interventions introduced by the government.

Speaking through his spokesperson, Alhaji Ali Cissey, the Muslim leader noted that the decision to vote for the Vice President and NPP candidate, His Excellency Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia, is not because he is a Muslim or hails from the north, but because this government has relieved them of the social burden of constantly dealing with their children engaging in all forms of criminal activities.

"Today, our children are all in school thanks to Free SHS. Before then, our youth were involved in all forms of social vices because of a lack of education, but today the situation has changed. We no longer think about that because our children have access to decent education," he observed.

The Zongo Chief, who was addressing a mammoth crowd during a campaign tour to the community by the Second Lady, Hajia Samira Bawumia, and her entourage, commended the NPP and the Vice President, assuring him that he and his people have resolved to cast their ballots for the ruling party.

"We are not voting for Dr. Bawumia because he is a Muslim. No, far from that; we shall reward him because this government has relieved many of us from one of our biggest headaches, which was to do with the future of our children. We are grateful to the NPP government," he emphasized.

On her part, the Second Lady, Hajia Samira Bawumia, said the next NPP administration under His Excellency Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia will usher the country into the next phase of development by empowering the youth with employable skills and offering them job opportunities.

According to her, the Vice President has laid a solid foundation with the digitalization agenda for the smooth take-off of the country's socio-economic development.

She therefore called on the people to rally behind the government, cautioning that any change in the course of leadership will derail the progress of the country.

The Second Lady is on a 9-day campaign tour to some constituencies in the Ashanti Region.

Among the party bigwigs accompanying her on the tour is the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the party, Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako, aka Chairman Wontumi.
