A female constituent of the Bantama constituency in the Ashanti Region has criticised the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama, for his repeated claims that times are hard under the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia-led government.

John Mahama, a former president, has frequently accused the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia administration of mismanaging the economy and subjecting Ghanaians to severe economic hardship.

On his campaign trail ahead of the December 7 general election, Mahama has consistently urged Ghanaians to vote against the NPP and return the NDC to power so he can lead a government that will restore the economy and create prosperity for all.

However, a female constituent from Bantama expressed a different view during a constituency engagement organiseds by GHOne TV. She argued that returning the NDC to power would only harm Ghanaians.

She added that Mahama should stop blaming the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia administration for the hardships, as there has never been a time in Ghana's history when life was entirely free of challenges.

"I want to ask John Mahama, from the days of Kwame Nkrumah until now, under President Akufo-Addo, when has life in Ghana been easy? He should tell us. During his time as president, were Ghanaians eating free fufu? Were we not paying school fees for our children during his tenure? Didn't we suffer severe erratic power supply under his leadership, which even caused our husbands to leave home and engage in unfaithful behavior? Could we even see our husbands at home to have a proper family life? So, what is his problem now?" she asked.

She encouraged Ghanaians, particularly the constituents of Bantama, to turn out in large numbers on December 7 to vote for the NPP.

She emphasiseds that this would enable Dr. Bawumia to become president and continue the ongoing digitalisation agenda, which she believes has brought relief to Ghanaians.
