Agona Swedru, Sept 2, GNA - Mr Amadu Musah, Asemblyman for Swedru Zaabu Zongo/Nkubease Electoral Area has advised aspiring Assembly Members to desist from giving promises they cannot honour. Mr Musah said this when the Electoral Commission (EC) mounted a platform for him and another contestant, Mr Eric Ofori, to outline their plans for the electoral area on Thursday.

The incumbent who contesting for the third time asked the people to give another mandate to continue the good work he started sometime ago to ensure the development of the area.

Mr Musah stated that through his initiative the District Assembly had approved the construction of two footbridges over River Akora under the European Union and the Ghana Government grant, adding that one had been completed and work would soon start on the other one. He noted that the people had tested and seen his work and expressed the hope that they would give him another chance to represent them at District Assembly since "experience is the best teacher to improve living standard of the people".

Mr Musah pointed out that he was already known and said that voting for a fresh person would not help them because the one would have to study the concept of the district assembly.

He told the electorates that he would never "lord it over them" but rather going to serve them as he had before.

Mr Ofori asked the people to test him and see the difference, adding that he would innovate to bring more development to the area. He stressed the need for more work and asked the people to vote for him on September 12, 2006.
