Social Scientist wins Klottey Korle NPP Primary

Accra, May 31, GNA- Nii Adjei Tawiah, a 45-year-old Social Scientist, on Saturday polled 81 out of a total of 112 votes to win the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Primary to contest the Klottey Korle Constituency.

Nii Adu Mante, the incumbent, polled 20 votes to take the second position.

Mr. Abankwah Yeboah took the third position with 11 votes, while Mr. Akuffo Mensah, the fourth contestant had no votes. In his acceptance speech after the election, Nii Tawiah, who until his election, was the Constituency Chairman, said with his victory, the fight to win the seat for NPP has just began, and therefore urged members and supporters to rally solidly behind him to ensure resounding victory in the upcoming general elections.

The three other contestants pledged their support for Nii Tawiah, saying that they were prepared to team up with him to win the seat for the party, come December.

Mrs. Vivien Garshong, Greater-Accra Regional Vice Chairman of the NPP, asked members to close their ranks, and work hard to bring victory to the party.
