Dr Bryan Acheampong is a flagbearer hopeful of the NPP
After the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful, Dr Bryan Acheampong, disclosed that he single-handedly financed the party’s campaign activities in a region by giving 27 out of the party’s 33 Members of Parliament GH¢100,000 each month from May to October, he has made yet another claim.
This time, Bryan Acheampong has revealed that he funded 62 NPP MPs with GH¢20,000 every month from 2021 until the party lost power in 2025.
According to the flagbearer hopeful, who disclosed while delivering a campaign speech at Bunsu in the Eastern Region, his motivation for providing the funds was to support the MPs in their campaign activities, among other reasons.
I funded NPP Eastern Region candidates, executives with GH¢52 billion in 2024 - Bryan Acheampong
“At that time, I did not hold any position. But from 2021, I gave 62 Members of Parliament GH¢20,000 each every month. I was supporting them so they could all visit their constituencies,” he said.
Meanwhile, Bryan Acheampong’s statement has triggered mixed reactions on social media.
While some social media users have expressed displeasure over his decision to make such a disclosure public, others have questioned the source of the large sums of money he claims to have distributed.
