Dr Bawumia is contesting for NPP flagbearer for 2028
The Member of Parliament for Ahafo Ano North in the Ashanti Region has appealed to NPP delegates to rally behind former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in Saturday's presidential primary election.
Bawumia, who led the NPP as flagbearer to the 2024 election, having already partnered with former President Akufo-Addo 4 times as his running mate, will be contesting with four other candidates for the NPP's flagbearer for the 2028 election.
With five days to go, the MP for Ahafo Ano North said, Bawumia's enormous experience and popularity, makes him the ideal candidate to be presented again to make it easier for the NPP, which he said must learn its lessons, to win.
"Today we are in opposition, and it is important for us to learn from our mistakes," he said.
"I believe that if we stay united behind our Flagbearer, Dr Bawumia, we will be able to win."
"He has already been marked, so let us all unite and rally behind him with our full force on 31st January so that he can lead us to victory," Nana Agyeman Prempeh said.
The MP also slammed members of the NPP, who he said were sabotaging the NPP, despite benefitting immensely from the erstwhile NPP administration.
"It's sad that those who benefited from the government are those derailing the progress of the NPP and they turn around to blame others."
