Poll also shows Ato Forson (R) is leading Asiedu Nketiah (M) and Haruna Iddrisu (R) in head-to-head
The latest poll by Global Info Analytics has put the Minister of Finance, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, in a commanding lead in the race to find the replacement of President John Dramani Mahama as the flagbearer of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Details of the poll, which was shared on social media on March 25, 2026, showed that 32 percent of voters prefer Dr Ato Forson as the presidential candidate of the NDC for the 2028 general election.
The finance minister's closest contender in the poll is the National Chairman of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, who had 25 percent of voters saying he was their preferred candidate for 2028.
The Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu, came in third with 23 percent of voters saying he should represent the NDC in the 2028 presidential elections.
The study also showed that about 14 percent of voters want Vice President Prof Jane Naana Opoku Agyeman to be the flagbearer of the NDC for the next election, with about 5 percent of them saying they preferred other candidates.
The poll also showed that Dr Ato Forson is leading both Asiedu Nketiah and Haruna Iddrisu in two-horse races.
