Dr Bawumia with European Union Ambassadors in Accra
The former Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has reaffirmed Ghana's commitment to democratic governance, economic transformation, and stronger international partnerships following a high-level engagement with European Union Ambassadors in Accra.
The 2028 Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) shared the development on his social media page on Tuesday, April 21, 2026.
"Earlier today, I engaged in a high-level breakfast meeting with European Union Ambassadors in Accra," he wrote.

According to Dr Bawumia, the engagement brought together Heads of Mission from ten EU member states: Austria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, and Malta, alongside a delegation from the European Union.
He noted that the discussions focused on shared priorities, including regional security and deepening economic cooperation.
"Our constructive and forward-looking discussions focused on shared priorities, including regional security, deepening economic cooperation, as well as expanding investment opportunities in Ghana.
"I also reiterated my steadfast commitment to strengthening Ghana’s democratic institutions, advancing sustainable economic growth, and promoting inclusive social development," he added.
