Former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Samuel Koku Anyidoho, has declared his full support for the party’s National Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, regarding his ongoing “Thank You” tour.

Speaking in an interview on Okay FM on June 9, 2026, Anyidoho explained that although he has had differences with Asiedu Nketiah in the past, he believes the chairman’s engagement with the grassroots is the right approach.

“Everybody knows that some time ago I had issues with Asiedu Nketiah, but I support him 100% with what he is doing,” he stated.

He recalled his time as Asiedu Nketiah’s deputy between 2014 and 2018, noting that in 2016, when the NDC lost the elections, there was a clear disconnect between the government and the party.

“When he started the thank, you tour, he stopped at a point but later realized that if he doesn’t step forward, the party would go backwards. Everywhere he goes, no one mocks him, so you can see that the party base supports what he is doing.

“The president is just roaming about. There is no leadership in the country. If I complain, they say I am anti-JM, which I am not,” Anyidoho added.

Asiedu Nketiah has been touring the country to reconnect with party members.

He is also speculated to contest the flagbearership of the NDC after the tenure of President John Dramani Mahama’s administration.
