Kennedy Agyapong is former Member of Parliament for Assin Central
The New Patriotic Party has referred petitions filed against former Assin Central Member of Parliament and former presidential aspirant, Kennedy Agyapong, to its National Disciplinary Committee, directing the body to complete its investigations within two weeks.
The party’s National Organiser, Henry Nana Boakye, disclosed this during an interview with the media on June 25, 2026, following a joint meeting of the National Executive Committee and National Council.
NPP MPs accuse Ken Agyapong of undermining Minority leadership over Afari Hospital comments
He explained that the decision was taken after several petitions were received concerning comments attributed to the former MP, which the party considers potentially detrimental to internal unity.
“As it stands now, the position is that we have referred all petitions received regarding Hon Kennedy’s recent comments to the National Disciplinary Committee.
“We have given them two weeks because we want to ensure that within that period, the matter will be dealt with. So, in two weeks, the National Executive Committee will receive the report, and we will convene again to deliberate on the findings,” he noted.
The petitions are linked to recent public remarks over the failure of the erstwhile Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo-led government to fully operationalise the Afari Military Hospital in the Ashanti Region, despite reported investments.
He also came under scrutiny after suggesting he could “spill the beans” on alleged misconduct within the party if attempts were made to silence him.
