Political Science lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Dr Amakye Boateng, has urged former Assin Central Member of Parliament, Kennedy Agyapong, not to leave the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
According to him, if Kennedy Agyapong still harbours the ambition of becoming President of Ghana, he must remain steadfast in the party.
Speaking in an interview on Esra TV, excerpts of which have been shared on social media, Dr Boateng stated that despite calls and petitions seeking Kennedy Agyapong's removal from the party, he should remain in the NPP.
"He is not supposed to leave the NPP. If he has the vision of leading the country as president, then he should remain in the party. He shouldn't allow people to anger him into leaving the party.

"I have said before that if Alan wanted to become president, he should have remained in the NPP. Ken is a different person who can mobilise the youth. So, if he stays in the party, his chances of becoming president will be much higher," he said.
His comments follow recent threats by Kennedy Agyapong that between June and July 2027, he would release what he describes as evidence of wrongdoing by some members of the party and expose certain issues within the NPP.
