Emmanuel Okai Mintah has declared his intention to contest for the position of National Youth Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

According to him, he pledges to build a stronger, more organised and opportunity-driven youth wing ahead of the 2028 general elections.

In a statement titled, "Reclaiming the Future: A Declaration of Intent for the Office of National Youth Organizer, National Democratic Congress," on June 29, 2026, Mintah described the NDC as his life's work, saying he has dedicated his entire adult life to building the party and its youth wing from the grassroots to the national level.

"The NDC is not just a party to me; it is my life's work and my purpose," he stated. "I have walked the long, dusty roads with you, not only as a commander, but also as a comrade."

Mintah, who currently serves as Chairperson of the National Youth Working Committee and Head of Operations for the National Youth Wing Campaign 2024, said the time has come for decisive action and renewed focus on the welfare of young party members.

According to him, the office of the National Youth Organizer must go beyond ceremonial duties and actively advocate for opportunities for the youth base of the party.

"It is the sacred duty of this office to push, to fight, and to pry open the doors of opportunity for the NDC youth base," he said. "This is a full-time calling that demands someone ready to give it everything."

As part of his vision, Mintah pledged to establish a Correspondence Desk System to receive complaints, concerns, and requests from young party members and ensure that their issues are addressed promptly.

"We cannot solve problems we do not know about, and we cannot claim to serve the party if our people do not feel heard," he noted.

He also promised to intensify activities on university campuses and among branches of the Tertiary Education Institutions Network (TEIN), stressing that preparations for victory in the 2028 elections must begin immediately.

"Winning Election 2028 starts now. It requires a Youth Wing that is organised, powerful, disciplined, ready and impossible to ignore," he stated.

Mintah further pledged to work closely with government appointees to create opportunities for young party members while ensuring that appointees remain focused on delivering on the mandate entrusted to them by President John Dramani Mahama.

"The surest way to win 2028 is to fight for opportunities for the very youth who toiled on the campaign. They stood with us, and now we must deliver for them," he said.

Taking a swipe at the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), the aspiring National Youth Organizer described the NPP's youth wing as "dead, lifeless and out of ideas," insisting that the NDC would outwork its opponents ahead of the next general elections.

"While they sleep, we will organise. While they complain, we will deliver. And when the final votes are counted, the victory will be so resounding that the entire nation will know the NDC is the only home for the youth of Ghana," he declared.
